13 Hayes Street

The house at 13 Hayes Street is a single storey timber and iron bungalow constructed during the Federation period. It is unclear when this house was constructed but it is believed to have been built around 1915. By 1951, the house was owned and occupied by Bob Prodgers. In 1959 Wladyslaw and Zofia Baran were living at 13 Hayes Street when they became Australians (reference).

The street is named for the Hayes family. In 1931, many of the lots in the street were owned by the estate of William Hayes, who purchased the land in 1897. William was born in Bunbury in 1861 and died in 1930 (reference).
