99 Beach Road

The House at 99 Beach road is a single storey brick and iron building built in the Federation Queen Anne style. It is unclear when this house was built, but it was likely constructed after 1896 when the area was surveyed by William Bedford Mitchell.

Originally, Beach Road was known as Swamp Road. The name change occurred before the 1920s.

Over time, the residential address of this property has changed. In 1931 it was 26 Beach Road and 87 Beach Road in 1951.

Many people once called this house their home. In 1931 it was owned and occupied by Richard Lugg. In 1934 Mr M A Sinclair lived there (reference). In 1936 Mr and Mrs Beer lived there (reference). In 1941 Mrs Grosvernor owned the property. In 1951 L Johnson owned the house and rented it out to Ausden and Prosser.

Mr and Mrs Sally Walters lived in this house during the 1980s and 1990s. Sally continued to live in this house after Mr Walters passed away in the 1990s.
