JACKSON, William B.

(1826-25/11/1857).

JACKSON, Joseph

(31/08/1865-1951).

Joseph arrived in Victoria in 1884 and then went to Western Australia. On 12/04/1898 Joseph married Harriet Jane Symonds (18/01/1881-1959) in Bunbury. Harriet was born in England and was the daughter of John and Jane. Joseph and Harriet's children were Joseph (who died in World War 1), Faith, Eve, Thomas Walter (1904-1975), Mary, Arthur, William, Madeline, Heien, Anne, Joseph. Joseph first arrived to work on the Albany-Perth railway before he went prospecting. He then visited England. After visiting England, he worked as a dairy farmer for "Spring Creek Farm" at Yarloop and then carted timber from Williams Mill and other mills to the railway until they closed. His wife taught sewing at Cookernup School.

Edward was the son of Reverend James Mark and Alison née Hume. He arrived on 02/09/1862 on the West Australian with his parents. He married Mary Eliza Palmer (1861-) on 24/09/1879. Mary was born in Albany. He was the second doctor of Thomas Matthew and Elizabeth née Thomas. Their children were born in 1885 (KGS). He was the post and telegraph department messenger in 1873 at Toodyay and 1874 at Bunbury. In 1875 he was the telegraph operator in Albany. He was a chief operator (1887 AIm). He went to the Eastern colonies on his honeymoon and returned 01/01/1880 on the Tanjore. He went to the Eastern colonies about the time of his father's death and returned on the 25/11/1886 on the Tasmania. He was a member of the Albany Town Council in 1886.

INKPEN, Frank Julius

(01/07/1872-28/03/1955).

He was born in Perth and died in Bunbury. He was the son of George and Matilda née Ougden. He married Grace Eleanor Pincombe (21/11/1881-22/07/1968) in Fremantle on 19/09/1900. She was born in Fremantle and died in Bunbury. He was the doctor of John Powell and Charlotte Eleanor. Their children were Eric (1901-), Muriel (1902-), Marjory (1906-), Freda (1907-), Verna Gladys (1908-), Constance (1913-), Bruce (1915-), Esme (1917-), Leo George John (1919-1942 in World War Two). Frank joined the postal service at about 13 years of age and retired at 64 years old (Government Gazette 1890). He was a postmaster at Coolgardie, Roebourne, Carnarvon and Broome. He was an educator at the Perth Boys' School. He was a liberal and a Methodist.

He died in Geraldton. His brother was Alexander. David married Hepburn. Their children were Hope, Bert and George WaIter. He arrived on the Daylight on 10/08/1877 from London. He applied for 50 acres in the Victoria district in 1880 as an immigrant grant. He went to and from Bunbury in 1878. He was employed in the post and telegraph department at "Narra Tarra" (Government Gazette 1889). He was a gaoler at Geraldton for many years.

Frederick was born in England and died in Victoria. His parents were Frederick and Phoebe. Frederick married on the 12/04/1859 in Bunbury to Emma Burst (23/03/1844-16/1864). Emma was born in Australind and died at Gwalla. She was the daughter of Sara. Their children were Eliza (1858-1936), Sydney Frederick (1859-1944), William (1861-), Susan (1863-) and Lily (1861-). He was born in Busselton and died at Capel. John was the son of Haycock James and Elizabeth. John married on 26/01/1876 in Bunbury to Ann Alice Jackson (1855-1904). Their children were William Walter, John Thomas, Catherine Bertha, George W., Charles, Henry, Ada E, Jane M., Clarence Edward who died at Gallipoli, Beatrice E and Ann A. Cecil L. In 1876, John founded the first inn at Capel, when there were only around 28 residents in the locality.

Elizabeth was born in London and died at Capel. Elizabeth arrived in 1849 on the Mary. She remarried on 05/10/1872 to Thomas Horton. Their children were Caroline (1851-1930), Frank, WaIter James, John James (1855-1936) and Thomas Giles (1860-1940), who died in Bunbury. In York, James was a shoemaker at the time of marriage and owned a Busselton Town Lot around 1857

They arrived as an Enrolled Pensioner Guard with their wife Mary and children. A former Private with the Royal Artillery. Arthur was stationed at the Bunbury convict Depot as Assistant overseer in 1856. Arthur owned a Bunbury town lot in 1855. He may have been at Albany in the 1860s. He was listed as passenger on 20/10/1857 aboard the Lochinvar bound for Albany or South Australia, including Mary, George, John, Helen. Arthur, Francis and Mary Jane and Margaret Jane (1864-1864) who was born and died at Albany.

Thomas was a Bunbury farmer "Bogginup" (Boyanup) and worked as a shingle cutter. In 1863 Thomas renewed a pastoral lease. He employed around 14 tickets of leave men between 1869-1874, including sawyers. He was a member of the Church of England.

Their children were Abraham (1854-), Thomas (1855-), Lucy Alice (1857-1927), John (1859-1860), Jock, Annie, Minnie (born around 1866), Lucy (1863-), Lavinia (born around 1865), Matilda (born around 1868) and Belle.
