FAHEY, Edmund Michael (1837-28/11/1905). He was born in Ireland and he died in Albany.  He was the son of John, a farmer, and Mary Grace. He arrived around 1860. Edmund got married on 29/04/1869 to Cecilia Murphy (08/1845-19/11/1910) in Albany. Cecilia was born in Ireland and died in Bunbury. She was the daughter of James, a coachbuilder, and Helen. She arrived on 05/08/1868 on the Palestine. Their children were Mary (1870-), Cecilia (1872-), Henry (1879-), Edmund (1884-) and Ursula (1885-). Edmund was a police constable at Perth (1865). He was posted in 1870 to the Police Pools in Katanning. He was reprimanded for cowardice in pursuit of the Aboriginal outlaw Bobinet in 1875. He was later a farmer and sheep owner at Grace Field at the Slab Rut Gully, south of Kojonup, which he sold to J .Tunney in 1880, when he moved to Albany. 


FANCELLI, C. He is listed as a passenger on the Franklin from Fremantle to Bunbury on 15/02/1887.


FARRANT, W. He employed five ticket of leave men between 1868 and 1873 at Bunbury, including sawyers, cooks and firewood cutters.


FEE, Forbes. He was a police constable from 1864 to 1867 at Bunbury. Later he was a farmer in Bunbury and Dardanup between 1875 and 1879.


FENNER, George Hector (1836-). He was an expiree. George arrived on 01/01/1858 on the Nile. He married on 30/12/1864 to Hannah Stallard (1843-) in Bunbury. Hannah was the daughter of John and Hannah. Their child was William Ernest (1864-). In Busselton, George worked as a shoemaker. He employed six ticket of leave men from 1864 to 1871 at Quindalup. 


FENNER, William Ernest (13/06/1864-). William was born in Bunbury as the son of George Hector and Hannah. He married on 29/12/1886 to Mary Ann Munday in Fremantle. Mary was the daughter of William, a Pensioner Guard, and Mary Ann. William was educated at Busselton. He moved to Cossack as the first teacher there for two years. He resigned in 1881 to start working for the firm Symon, Hammond and Hubble, which were ironmongers at Fremantle. By 1892 he was the manager of their Carnarvon branch. In 1893 he was the owner of the Port Hotel, owner of cutter Will Watch, and pastoral leases. William established Mardathuna Station. He was a member of the Town Council and Mayor. He was an active member of the Liberal party there for over twenty-three years. He opened mica mines at Morrissey Creek. His wife was a guano trader at Shark Bay from 1899 onwards. He was a member of the Church of England.


FENTON, Thomas (1824-27/09/1873). Thomas died in Bunbury and was an expiree. He arrived on 09/06/1862 on the Norwood. He employed six ticket of leave men at North Fremantle from 1868 to 1870, including a lime burner, a sawyer, a tanner and two bootmakers. 


FERGUSON, Charles (1831-18/04/1902). Charles was born in Ireland and died in York. He was an expiree. He was the son of Charles. Charles arrived on 12/9/1864 on the Kerchantaan. In 1868, Charles married Mrs Bridget Coomer in Fremantle. She was the widow of Matthew. Their child was Charles (1873-). He employed four ticket of leave men at Bunbury in 1868, including boot and shoemakers and two ticket of leave shoemakers at Northampton in 1875.


FERGUSON, John Maxwell (28/4/1841-02/08/1924). John was born in Scotland and died in Perth. He was the son of Doctor John. John arrived in 1842 on the Trusty with his parents. John married on 6/9/1871 to Susan Margaret Finnerty (1852-1889) in Western Australia. Susan was born in Perth. She was the daughter of Charles and Elizabeth. John remarried in 1891 to Grace Ogilvy Ferguson (1859-20/10/1919) in Western Australia. Grace was the daughter of Donald and Catherine. John's children were Margaret Isabella (1873-1887), John Maxwell (1875-1927), Charles Donald (1873-1942), Violet Revell (1877-1942), James Norman and William Eric (twins) (1879-1961 and 1879-1952), Alice Elizabeth (1881-1951), Rachel Frances (1883-1975), Andrew Ogilvie (1886-1968), Alan Wedderburn (1888-1971), Catherine Balfour (1892-1975), Donald Maxwell (1893-1946), Grace Ogilvy (1897-1971) and Marion Fleming (1902-1943). John became Captain in a merchant navy. He returned from overseas in 1867 to his estate. He had the firm of Ferguson and Mumme. He leased the Swan Brewery in 1876 and opened ice works. He was part owner of three ships and owner of one, including Amur. He was listed in the 1880s as a Master Mariner and brewer. John had interests in the Timber Mills at Cookernup, Yarloop and Wooroloo with Fremantle, Bunbury, Geraldton, and Coolgardie offices. He was a member of the Legislative Assembly for North Fremantle from 08/1903-06/1904. The family made several voyages. John was educated at Bale School Perth and England. He was a resident at Arundel Street in 1892. John was a Presbyterian.


FERNIHOUGH, Alfred (21/11/1881-17/08/1970). Alfred died in Subiaco. He was the son of Isaac and Sarah. Alfred married in 1906 to May Rose Coles (03/05/1887-30/08/1977) in Northam. May was the daughter of Charles and Harriet. Their children were Ada (1907- 1973), Ivy (1908-1909), who died in Northam, Lillian (1910-), Emily (1912-1913), Grace (1913-), William (1914-), Thomas (1916-), Frederick (1919-1921) who died in Bunbury and Violet (1924) who was born in Bunbury. Alfred was a carpenter by trade. He was employed on the Western Australian government railways as a signalman. Alfred was educated at James St. School. He was a member of the Salvation Army.


FIELDER, John W. He arrived on 29/07/1882 on the Mary Blair, with his wife and four children arriving on 27/08/1883 on the Ferret from South Australia. John was a farmer at Shamrock Hotel in Perth in 1885, when he applied for an immigrant grant of 150 acres in the Cockburn district. He reapplied this time to the Wellington district in 1885. In Bunbury, John was a hotelier for the Prince of Wales in 1885. He visited South Australia on 01/08/1885 on the Franklin and returned by October and again from the Eastern colonies in 02/1888 on the Lusitania.


FINNEY, William (1828-06/02/1858). He was born in Bunbury and was a member of the Church of England.


FISHER, Elizabeth (1859-1952). Elizabeth was born in Bunbury. She was the daughter of Henry and Hary Ann. She married James Carroll and remarried to Hartnett.


FISHER, Henry (14/09/1862). Henry died in Brunswick. He was the son of George. Henry arrived on 03/09/1853 with his wife and five children. He married Mary Anne Harsh (1819-24/12/1905) in England. Mary died in Bunbury. She was the eldest daughter of Griffin and Ann. She remarried to John Flaherty (-1897). Henry and Mary's children were Thomas (06/1841-1916), John (1847-1944), Kary Anne (1849-1926). Sarah Ann(e) (baptised 1853, died 1946), Elizabeth (baptised 1859, died 1952) and Emma (baptised 1855, died 1913). He was a shepherd at Brunswick.


FISHER, Richard Jolly (14/3/1819-30/12/187). Richard was born in Yorkshire, England and died in Wallaroo South Australia. He arrived from America in a whaler in 1840. Richard married on 29/09/1845 to Margaret Murphy (1829-11/06/1875) in Picton. She was born in South Australia. She arrived on 10/04/1842 on the Diadem. Their children were Eliza (1846-), Clara (1848-), Catherine Rebecca (1858-), Matilda (1860-), Ernest Jolly (1867-1880), who died in a buggy accident, Stanley (1867) and Arthur Ralph (1869). Richard was a shoemaker, then became a publican at Bunbury. He was the master of the vessel Frolic, in which he sailed with his family to South Australia in 01/1850. Three of their children - Eliza, Stanley and Arthur Ralph came to Western Australia in 1888.


FITZPATRICK, Mr C/J. He was a tanner in Bunbury in 1870.


FITZPATRICKS, John. He married Ann Robert. Their child was Michael (1864-). He employed a ticket of leave labourer at Bunbury in 1867.


FLAHERTY, Elizabeth (31/07/1824-20/08/1906). Elizabeth was born in England. She arrived on 15/12/1829 on the Gilmore with her parents. In Bunbury she lived in a cottage owned by her brother-in-law, James Mylne, where she was joined by Esther, the widow of Edward Frederick Flaherty and her two daughters.


FLAHERTY, John (1815-1897). John was the son of Edward John and Sarah Elizabeth. He arrived on 15/12/1829 on the Gilmore. John married on 23/02/1865 to Mary Ann Fisher (1819-24/12/1905), a widow in Bunbury. Mary died in Bunbury. John was a farmer in Bunbury in 1866. He employed four ticket of Leave men from 1865 to 1869.


FLAVELL, James (1826-08/06/1886). James died at Mt. Eliza Depot and was an expiree. He arrived on 09/06/1862 on the Norwood. In Bunbury, he employed nine ticket of leave men from 1867 to 1871 including a mason in 1870. He was working at Pinjarra when admitted to the Mt. Eliza hospital on 23/03/1886.


FOLEY, John. He was a farmer in Dardanup and Bunbury from 1873 to 1881 and Upper Ferguson in 1885. He employed six ticket of leave men from 1866 to 1872. He was a member of the Roman Catholic Church.


FOLEY, Michael F. (1857-). Michael arrived in 1875. He was a farmer and applied to be a landing waiter at Bunbury in 1918. 


FOOR, William. He was a Private of 96th Regiment. He was stationed in Western Australia from 1847 to 1849. He was stationed at Bunbury in 1847. 


FOREMAN, Arthur Robert (1865-). Arthur was born in England as the son of John. He arrived in 1888. Arthur married in 1890 to Sophia Ellen Hayward (1867-). Their children were Catherine Agnes (1891-), John Frederick (1893-1901), Jessie Louisa (1894-), Ethel Grace (1896-), Arthur Robert (1898-) and Frank Hayward (1900-). Arthur farmed with Thomas Hayward at Woralup and was partnered with him in an ironmongery and agency business at Bunbury and then between 1898 and 1908 with George Hayward. In 1910 admitted F. W. Roberts as partner. He was the treasurer of the Cathedral Council. He was educated in Ipswich, England.


FORREST, David (02/01/1852- 05/01/1917/8). David was born in Picton and died in Claremont. He was the son of William and Margaret. David married on 07/12/1881 to Mary Parker (16/5/1853-29/5/1942) in York. Mary was the daughter of John Wyborn and Elizabeth. Their children were John Norman (baptised in 1883),  Hubert Willlam Wyborn (1884-1885), who died in Minderoo, Margaret Elizabeth (1885-1955), Susie Violet (1888-1950), David William Maidland (1889-1890), Robert Mervyn (1891-1975) and Donald Louis (1892-01/07/1915) who died in World War 1. He went to Melbourne on 22/07/1871 on the Azelia and with his wife in 1887. He employed six ticket of leave men at Cubbine in the York District between 1873 and 1876. In 1874 he drove a mob of sheep to Ashburton in the northwest. He was part owner with his brothers of Minderoo Station in Ashburton. He was a manager for fifteen years. He was a chairman of the Road Broad and a Justice of Peace in Western Australia. He was a Member of the Legislative Assembly in Ashburton (1897-1900), then Retired to '"Minderoo" in Claremont. He was educated at Bunbury Bishop's School and Perth. He was a member of the Church of England.


FORREST, George (19/11/1858-19/09/1916). George was born and died in Picton. He was the son of William and Margaret. George married on 06/08/1884 to Alice Delen O'Neill (3/7/1853-23/9/1933) in Bunbury. Alice was born in Ireland and died in Bunbury. Their children were Ernest Forrester (1884-1956), Flora Frances (1887-1947), Herbert Augustus (1888-), Blanche Irene (1889-), Ethel Marion (1891-1979) and Margaret Elvira (1895-). He worked as a miller of Leschenault Mill in Picton. He was a Justice of Peace for Wellington in 1894. He owned a 25-acre orchard which was irrigated and worked by Chinese labours. He was noted for stud stock, cattle and sheep. He conducted a government fish hatchery in the old mill's race pond. George was educated locally. He was a member of the Church of England.


FORREST, James (1830-14/4/1919). James was born in Scotland and died in Busselton. He was the son of Gavin and Elizabeth. James arrived on 06/12/1842 on the Trusty with his parents. He married in Fremantle on 16/08/1858 to Jane Doonan (1838-17/06/1918). Jane was born in Ireland and died in Busselton. She was the daughter of John, a stonemason. She arrived on 13/01/1853 on the Travancore. Their children were Elizabeth (1859-), Gavin (1861-), Ellen (1864-), James (1866-), Cecilia (1868-), Ann (1870-), John (1872-), George (1874-), Leopold (1876-), Daniel (1878-), Agnes (1879-), Thomas (1882-) and Valeria (1883-). From 11/03/1861 to 31/08/1872 James was a Western Australia Police Force member serving at Quindalup, Champion Bay, Bunbury and Lower Blackwood. He was a farmer and pastoralist at Margaret River-Cowaramup and "Thornhill" in Yallingup. He was a member of the Church of England.


FORREST John, Lord, Baron of Bunbury (22/08/1847-03/09/1918). John was born in Bunbury and died at sea. He was the son of William and Margaret. John married on 29/02/1876 to Margaret Elvire Hamersley (22/10/1844-13/06/1929) in Perth. Margaret was born in France as the daughter of Edward and Anne. John was employed in the Lands and Survey Department. Explorer West-East from 1870 to 1875. He was the Surveyor General from 1883-1884. He was a Member of the Legislative Council in 1890. He was a Member of the Legislative Assembly in Bunbury from 1890 to 1901. John was active in the promotion of the Trans-Continental Railway. John was the first Premier of Western Australia. He was a Member of the House of Representatives from 1901 to 1918, the Minister of Defence in 1901, Prime Minister General in 1901, Home Affairs Treasurer in 1905, 1909 and 1913 and Acting Prime Minister in 1907. A peerage was conferred on 02/19/1918. He got honours from Italy, Russia, Austria and England. He employed eighteen ticket of leave men between 1866 and 1877. John was educated at Picton, Bunbury and Hale School. He was commemorated in 1979 in a brass plaque in Perth pavement. He was a member of the Church of England.


FORREST, Robert (05/09/1854). Robert was born in Picton as the son of William and Margaret. Robert married in Pinjarra on 15/06/1875 to Esther Cons (-28/07/1909). Esther was the daughter of Frederick of London. She arrived on 21/05/1869 on the Robert Morrison. Robert remarried to Mabel Amelia Bestworth. Robert's children were Doris, Mavis, Winsome and Joyce. Robert went to England and returned on 19/12/1875 on the Lady Louisa. He owned Koombana Steam Mill, Bunbury, the first roller flour mill in Western Australia from 1889. He was a Justice of Peace for Western Australia. He employed five ticket of leave men from 1876 to 1879, including four to cut firewood and one brickmaker in 1879. His wife was a schoolmistress from 1877 to 1884.


FOURACRE, John (1834-22/10/1907). John was born in England. He arrived on 26/03/1852 on the Mary. John married in Perth on 24/08/1852 to Ann(e) Cobin (1831-). Ann arrived on 26/03/1852 on the Mary. Their children were Robert (1853-), John Thomas (1859-) who was born in Bunbury, Alice (1860-) who was born in Perth, Leah (1864-) who was born in Perth, John (1865-) who was born in Pinjarra and Martha. In Murray he was a publican in 1866. He had pastoral leases in Wellington in the 1860s and 40 acres in the Wellington district in 1868. This man travelled to England on 16/01/1871 on the Zephyr.


FOWLER, James (31/8/1867-04/1949). James was born in Dardanup and died in Bunbury. He was the son of Richard Archer and Ellen. James married on 14/04/1898 to Mary White Muir (29/05/1872-26/11/1944). Mary was born in Albany and died in Bunbury. She was the daughter of Thomas and Charlotte. Their children were Katherine (1901-), Thomas Muir (1902-), and had one infant death.


FOWLER, John (1816-1902). John was born in Yorkshire. John arrived in 1837 on the Britomart. He married in Perth on 17/05/1840 to Elizabeth Dicey (1820-, died at 92 yrs). Elizabeth arrived on 30/10/1835 on the Giraffe. Their children were Richard (1841-1911), Kary Anne (1843-1929), George Henry (1846-), Emma (1848-1848), John Charlton (1849-), Christina (1851-1934), Charles Kitching (1853-1923), Robert (1856-), William (baptised, 1864), Hannah Elizabeth (-1862) and James Forrest. At Swan River he was employed by Mrs Pace at Fremantle in 1837. He moved to Australind in 1843, Bunbury in 1846 and was a farmer at Vasse in 1848 at "Belvedere", "Roelands", Dardanup and Ferguson. Finally, he worked as a farmer and pastoralist at "Preston Park" in Donnybrook in the 1860s to the 1870s. He employed three ticket of leave men between 1864 and 1871, including a carpenter in 1866.


FOWLER, John Charlton (07/05/1849-). He was the son of John and Elizabeth. John married on 18/08/1875 to Amy Gardiner in Bunbury. Amy was the daughter of Jesse and Jane. Their children were John Charlton, Eva (1879-), Amy Elizabeth (baptised, 1881) and Lillian Haud (1878-). John was a Bunbury farmer in 1876, then Dardanup to 1881 and Upper Ferguson from 1884 to 1889. He was a member of the Church of England. 


FOWLER, Richard Arthur (24/05/1841-26/01/1911). Richard was born in Bunbury as the son of John and Elizabeth. John married on 02/05/1861 to Ellen Hough (05/1843 -16/11/1925) in Bunbury. Ellen died in Bunbury. She was the daughter of James and Elizabeth. Their children were Hannah Elizabeth (-1862), James (1867-1949), Eliza Matilda and Mary (baptised, 1875). In Bunbury, Richard was a farmer at Ferguson. He employed two ticket of leave men in 1864. His wife was a local midwife. He was a member of the Church of England.


FOX, Michael (1835-). He was an expiree. Michael arrived on 31/08/1853 on the Phoebe Dunbar. He employed a ticket of leave labourer at Bunbury in 1870.


FOX, William. He was possibly an expiree. He employed ten ticket of leave men at Bunbury from 1866 to 1874, including three sawyers and two cooks.


FRASER, J. He married May/Maria Scott (10/01/1874-). May was born in Bunbury as the daughter of Robert and Jane.


FREEMAN, William (1816-08/1842). William died by drowning while at Bunbury.


FRENCH, Mrs Amelia (1825-4/10/1881) She died in Perth. Amelia arrived on 08/04/1863 on the Burlington. She was a machinist storekeeper in Guildford from 1870 to 1872, in Bunbury in 1873 and in Murray-Serpentine in 1876.


FRENCH, Joseph. He was a Private of the 51st Regiment and was stationed in Western Australia from 1840 to 1847, then at Leschenault in 1850. He worked in Ommanney's survey party at Bunbury, Wonnerup and Collie River. 


FURLEY, C. In Bunbury, he employed a ticket of leave labourer in 1870.
