JACKSON, Joseph (31/08/1865-1951). Joseph arrived in Victoria in 1884 and then went to Western Australia. On 12/04/1898 Joseph married Harriet Jane Symonds (18/01/1881-1959) in Bunbury. Harriet was born in England and was the daughter of John and Jane. Joseph and Harriet's children were Joseph (who died in World War 1), Faith, Eve, Thomas Walter (1904-1975), Mary, Arthur, William, Madeline, Heien, Anne, Joseph. Joseph first arrived to work on the Albany-Perth railway before he went prospecting. He then visited England. After visiting England, he worked as a dairy farmer for "Spring Creek Farm" at Yarloop and then carted timber from Williams Mill and other mills to the railway until they closed. His wife taught sewing at Cookernup School. 


JACKSON, Thomas. Thomas was a Bunbury farmer from 1875 to 1877 at "Belvidere" in Australind and at "Parkfield". He employed four ticket of leave men from 1866 to 1875. 


JACKSON, W. He travelled to South Australia on 06/08/1864 on the Balclutha with the South Australian Regiment. He employed eight ticket of leave men from 01/1864 at Bunbury.


JACKSON, William B. (1826-25/11/1857). He was an expiree, meaning he completed his sentence as a convict. William arrived on 17/05/1851 on the Mermaid and died in Bunbury. In 1853 William married Cecilia (Sarah) Callaghan. Their children were Robert (1860-), Alfred (1861-), Martha (1863-), Helen (1868-) and Amelia (1870-). 


JARVIS, Charles Rossmore. On 22/04/1896, Charles married Selina Woodley (18/09/1868-). Selina was born in Bunbury and was the daughter of Charles and Emma. He was a ticket of leave roadmaker in 1872 at Champion Bay. 


JOBSON, Henry (1835-). He was an expiree, meaning he completed his sentence as a convict. Henry arrived on 21/10/1858 on the ship Edwin Fox. He was employed as a ticket of leave plasterer in Bunbury in 1866. 


JOHNS, H. F. He travelled to Fremantle from Bunbury on the South Australian on 2/05/1886. 


JOHNSON, George (25/03/1852-01/02/1924). George was born in Fremantle as the son of John and Mary. On 07/06/1880 George married Ellen Maria Trott (12/05/1857-01/02/1924). Ellen was the daughter of Thomas and Ellen Mead. She died in Bunbury. George and Ellen's children were Mary Ellen (1880-1978),  Henry John Thomas (1883-1964), George Alexander (1886-1977), Alfred Aubrey Holton (1889-1969), Hilda Mary May (1891-1977), Mervyn William John (1894-1944), Herbert Joseph Roy (1897-), Leslie George Gabriel (1899-) and Dulcie Cecilia (1901-). George worked as a boatman in Fremantle between 1879 and 1889 and as a railway worker in Bunbury.


JOHNSON, Nicholas (1822-12/04/1853). Nicholas arrived on 10/04/1842 on the Diadem and died in Bunbury. He worked as a shoeing smith at Australind. 


JOHNSTON, Bernard (1840-). He was an expiree, meaning he completed his sentence as a convict. Bernard arrived on 22/12/1865 on the Vimeira. He employed four ticket of leave men at Bunbury in 1869 and one ticket of leave man at Perth in 1871. He travelled to Newcastle, New South Wales, on 13/06/1873. 


JOHNSTON, Frank de la Motte (20/12/1851-29/05/1920). Frank died in Bunbury. Frank was the son of Harley Robert and Mary. On 14/02/1875, Frank married Elizabeth Victor at Guildford. Elizabeth was the eldest daughter of Henry Eitze, a civil engineer. Frank and Elizabeth's children were Victor Roberts (1877-), Amy Elizabeth (1879-1949), Elinor Catherine (1881-), Mary Louisa (1884-), Albert Frank (1886-), Clarence Victor and Douglas Victor (died young). He was a farmer at the "Poplars" in Dardanup.

JOHNSTON, John Forster (21/5/1848-15/05/1935). John was the son of Harley Robert and Mary. On 17/06/1874, John had his first marriage with Frances Elinor Clifton (32/11/1851-18/01/1881). Frances was the daughter of Robert William and Christina. His second marriage was on 13/01/1886 with Catherine (Bessie) Elizabeth Hayward (08/1865-28/03/1942). Catherine was the daughter of Thomas and Catherine. John's Children were Harley Robert (1875-1920), Herbert Forster (1877-1947), Walter (1878-1941), Robert Hayward (1889-1968) Dora Frances (1891-1964), John Forster (1893-1917), Mary Annette (1894-), Harold Douglas (1896-1975), Eric Hayes (1898-1959), Nora Roberta (1905-) Wilfred Gordon (1907-) and Gervase de Clifford (1911-1976). John was a farmer, manager and later owner of "Leschenault" (Pearce Clifton's property). John was a Justice of the Peace for 44 years, a member of Wellington Road Board and a member of the Bunbury Building Society. He was also the owner of "Moorland Farm", which was given to two of his sons when he and his wife retired to Bunbury, where they lived with their daughter.


JOHNSTON, Richard (1810-03/08/1885). Richard arrived on 01/07/1851 on the Pyrenees. In Bunbury, he was employed as a ticket of leave man in 1864. In Perth he was a sawyer. He employed three ticket of leave sawyers between 1873 and 1884 at Canning.  


JOHNSTON, William. He employed ten ticket of leave men at Wonnerup and Bunbury between 1855 and 1872. He also worked as a water policeman in Bunbury between 1867 and 1869. 


JONES, Edward. In Bunbury he owned a Town Lot from 11/1866. Edward was employed as a ticket of leave man in 1866. 


JONES, John (1832-). He was an expiree, meaning he completed his sentence as a convict. John arrived on 10/01/1868 on the Hougoumont. John worked as a chemist and druggist in Bunbury. In 1877 he signed a petition regarding discrimination against ex-convicts. 


JONES, Thomas (1835-). He was an expiree, meaning he completed his sentence as a convict. Thomas arrived on 11/07/1857 on the Clara. He worked as a tinsmith in Bunbury and Perth in the 1860s. He owned a Bunbury Town Lot in 1868. He is listed at Vasse, Sussex and Wellington as an employer of ten ticket of leave men between 1865 and 1871.


JONES, William (1844-09/01/1895). He was an expiree, meaning he completed his sentence as a convict. He arrived on 04/07/1866 on the Belgravia. William was run over by a train on the Bunbury jetty. 


JONES, William. On 26/05/1897 William married Mary Ann Rodwell in Bunbury. Mary was the daughter of William and Mary Ann. William and Mary had one child, Owen (1898-1959), born in Derby, Western Australia.
