MCalinden, John (1838-). John was born in Ireland. John arrived on 06/04/1859 on the Hamilla Mitchell with his wife, Mary Laffin (1841-). Their children were Frederick, Louis, Amelia (1865-), Frank and Cecilia. He worked as a police constable at Fremantle in 1860, then at Bunbury in 1864, and resigned in 1877. He was listed as a Blackwood River publican from 1879 to 1888. 


MacANDREW, Alex. He arrived in 12/1842 on the Trusty. He was listed as a Bunbury farmer in 1866 to 1875 and a sheep owner in 1876. In 1851 he applied for a 6,000 acres pastoral licence in Leschenault district. He employed seventeen ticket of leave men at "Wedderburn'' in Brunswick between 1863 and 1876. 


McANDREW, James (1828-) James arrived on 19/07/1865 on the Palestine with his wife Agnes (1838-). Their child was William Alexander. He was listed as a farmer in Bunbury, he employed three ticket of leave men between 1868 and 1876 at Brunswick. James, Agnes and an infant arrived from Victoria on 11/03/1873 on the James William. James, Agnes and their two children departed to London on 07/01/1880 on the Chalgrove. 


McANDREWS. He arrived on the R.M. China on 06/11/1875 from Galle. Mrs or Alex of Bunbury. Arrived 23/03/1886 on the Sutlej from London. 


McARTHUR, Peter. He married Catherine Doyle. Their child was Janetta (1887-) born in Fremantle as a Roman Catholic. He is listed as Licensee of the Rose Hotel in Bunbury from 1888 to 1889.


MacAULEY, J. He is listed as a carter in Bunbury from 1879 to 1881. 


McAULIFFE, William Robert (1841-). He married on 05/08/1874 at Perth to Sarah Boyd (1843-29/04/1913). Sarah died in York. She arrived on 15/04/1867 on the Strathmore with her parents. Their children were Dessie Jane (1875-), Edna Mary Martha (1877-), William Robert (1879-) and Andrew Albert (1880-). All of their children were baptised at the Perth Church of England. He worked as a clerk for R.B. Burnside in 1876 and was a clerk in gaol in 1877. William joined the police force in 1881, moved to Bunbury between 1882 to 1885, with residence at Goderich Street Perth. He applied for government employment in 04/1887. His religion was the Church of England.


McBRIDE, Peter (1831-). He was an expiree. Peter arrived on 19/08/1853 on the Robert Small. He married on  27/11/1860 to Ellen Graham (1835-). Ellen arrived on 06/04/1859 on the Hamilla Mitchell. Their children were Christopher (1864-1864) born in York and Daniel (1865-) born in Bunbury. He was an ex-soldier, and worked at the Claisebrook Depot, then moved to York. 


McCABE, Reverend Patrick (1829- 21/10/1899). Patrick was born in Ireland and died in Minnesota, USA. He arrived on 08/08/1859 on the Travancore, in cabin class. He was ordained in 03/1859 as a Roman Catholic Chaplain. He served at Perth in 1859, then transferred to Champion Bay in 1860, then Bunbury between 1865-1869 and Fremantle in 1871. In 1874, Patrick became the Principal of the Roman Cathelic Boys' Orphanage in Subiaco. He departed to South Australia on 05/1875, then left for the USA in 1882. While at Bunbury, he was involved in the escape of John Boyle O'Reilly, the Fenian. He also organised the building of the Roman Catholic Church in Bunbury.


McCARTHY, Patrick. He arrived on 21/01/1887 on the Hampshire, with his wife. They had three children. He moved to Bunbury as an unemployed plasterer and sought aid on 21/04/1887. 


McCARTHY, Timothy (1823-02/01/1908). Timothy arrived on 08/06/1858 on the Lord Raglan as an Enrolled Pensioner Guard. He married Margaret Duggan. They had six children, including Timothy (1859-) born in Fremantle as a Roman Catholic, Alice, Henry (1863-), Theresa, Florence (1872-) born in Perth as a Roman Catholic. Timothy was formerly a Sergeant Major in 18th Regiment. In 1863 applied for Fremantle Town Lots. Worked in Bunbury as Assistant Storekeeper at the Convict Establishment Commissariat between 1861-6. Later in Guildford as Clerk and Issuer of stores at Depot 1867-1872. Perth Guildford between 1875-1877. 


McCOMISH, Edward Joseph (1833-17/05/1900). Edward was born in Co. Down, Ireland, as the son of Patrick and Elizabeth. He arrived around 1857 as an Enrolled Pensioner Guard. He got married on 01/03/1859 at Perth to Anne Mary Hackett (1838-16/09/1908). Anne was born in England, as the daughter of Thomas and Mary Ann. She arrived on 15/10/1841 on the Ganges. Their children were Edward Joseph (1860-1910) born in Guildford, Mary (1862-), Arthur (1867-), Sarah, Patrick Thomas (1871-1955) born in York, James (1872-), Peter James (1874-), Ann Elizabeth (1876-) and David Ernest (1879-). He was a Soldier in the 12th Regiment. He worked as a Convict Guard and Police Constable between 1866-2871 at Bunbury, East Perth, Guildford and York. His religion was Roman Catholic. 


McCOURT, Ann (1837-). Ann was the daughter of James. She married in 1853 to James Payne. She remarried again in 1860 in Bunbury. 


McCULLOCH, Clarke arrived on 15/02/1863 on the Merchantman as an Enrolled Pensioner Guard. Formerly a Private in 79th Regiment. He employed 2 ticket of leave men at Bunbury between 1868-1869. 


McCULLUM, David (06/1816-26/08/1901). David arrived as an Enrolled Pensioner Guard with his wife. He married Nancy Ann Wilson (1827-) in Yorkshire. Their children were Elizabeth (1845-1853) died when she fell from a swing, Martha (1850-), Selina (1852-), Ellen (1854-), Jane (1857-), WaIter (1859-), Esther (1866-) and Arthur (1866-). He was formerly a Private in the 12th Regiment. He joined the 99th Foot at 14 years and was discharged in Perth on 10/12/1857. On 26/03/1881,  David was allotted in Albany Lot P28. He worked as a Police Constable in 1857, promoted to 2nd Class 09/10/1867, in charge of Bunbury Lockup in 1878, Albany Lockup keeper in 1880. His son (WaIter) departed on 29/05/1869 on the Pilot for Eastern colonies. He Visited Eastern colonies in 1866, arrived on 18/03/1886 on the Albany from South Australia, departed on 26/06/1886 on the Victorian. His religion was Presbyterian.


McDIVOTT, John (1838-). He was an expiree. John arrived on 22/12/1865 on the Vimeira. He was listed as a sawyer, he employed a ticket of leave cook in 1871 at Bunbury.


McDONALD, D. He was listed Albany to Fremantle on 25/07/1885 on the Franklin and Bunbury to Fremantle on 08/12/1885 on the South Australian. He departed 03/08/1886 on the Franklin for South Australia (Albany-Bunbury). He arrived on 08/09/1886 on the Franklin from Albany. He departed on 31/07/1887 on the Rob Roy for Albany and again he departed on 28/01/1888 on the Rob Roy for Albany. 


McFARLANE David arrived in 06/1840 on the Prima Donna. He was appointed Constable at Bunbury in 12/1841 and departed on 01/02/1843 on board the Trusty for London.


McGIBBON, John (1818-08/10/1895 in Mount Eliza). John was an expiree. He arrived on 10/07/1855 on the Adelaide. He was employed as a mason by MacPherson in 1858 and Mackintosh in 1870 at Toodyay and listed as a Cattle dealer in Bunbury.


McGLASHAN, Neil. He married Margaret or Mary (1810-1841). She died in Bunbury. Their children were Anne Jane (1836-), Donald (1839-) and James (1840-). He worked as a Shepherd at York in the 1830s, then moved to Vasse in 1840. He owned 25 acres in Sussex district in 1850. Travelled to Albany and Victoria on 02/05/1853 on the Rosebud. 


McGREGOR, Daniel (18/06/1815-24/11/1898). Daniel was the son of Alexander and Helen (maiden name Forrest). He arrived on 05/03/1831 on the Elisa, with his stepfather John Scott and mother, Helen Scott. He married on 18/04/1850 in Busselton to Agnes Lockhart (1829/32-05/02/1904). Agnes was born in Scotland, as the daughter of Alexander and Mary (maiden name Swan). She arrived on 06/12/1842 on the Trusty. Their Children were Alexander Lockhart (1851-), Helen Forrest (1852-), John Scott (1854-), William James (1855-), Gaven Forrest (1856-1934), Mary Janet (1858-1861), Agnes Marion (1860-), Robert Roy (1862-), Edith Annie Leaf (1863-), Martha Rabiney (1866-), Sabina Catherine (1868-1889), Daniel Wallace (1870-1957) and Simon Forrest (1872-1896). Daniel was listed as a farmer, mail contractor, licensee of the "Vasse Hotel ", schoolmaster, and pastoralist. Quindalup and Bunbury. 


McGREGOR, Gaven Forrest (13/04/1856-30/12/1934). He was the son of Daniel and Agnes (maiden name Lockhart). Gaven married on 20/04/1881 in Bunbury to Matilda Roberts Scott (03/04/1865-). Matilda died in Perth. Their children were Alexander Wallace (1882-1972), Agnes (1884-1884), Allen Murray (1886-), Agnes (1888-1940) and Helen Margaret (1893-1959). Gaven was listed as a school teacher at Quindalup between 1872-1873. He spoke German and French. He was employed by H. C. Davies of Karridale. Clerk to Manager of Boranup Hill. Gaven farmed the family property at Cometville between 1905-1911. Then the manager of Harrinup timber mill until retirement. Member of Busselton Shire Council, Drainage Board, Agricultural Society, Hunt and Race Club. His religion was the Church of England. 


McGUINESS, Henry. He joined the Police Force in 1883, stationed at York and in 1884 transferred from Fremantle to Bunbury as 2nd class Constable. Henry was listed as Meginness when transferred to Geraldton in 1888 and to Beringarra in 1889.


McGUIRE, John (06/1859-). He was the son of Philip and Mary Ann. Kojonup and Eticup, farmer and sheep owner from 1884-1889. He was listed as James when he employed 2 ticket of leave men road clearing 1869 Bunbury.


McGUlRE, Patrick. He was an 8th Regiment enrolled pensioner who arrived on 28/12/1863 on the Dalhousie. This man employed two ticket of leave men in 1868 at Bunbury.


McINNES, William (1823-18/07/1871). William died in Bunbury Depot. He was an expiree. William arrived on 15/02/1863 on the Merchantman. He employed two ticket of leave cooks in 1865 at Bunbury. 


McKAY, Thomas I (1804-06/1844). Thomas arrived on 10/12/1842 on the Trusty, with his wife and six children, in Australind. Their children were Clarissa (1826-), Elba (1828-1850), Charlotte Catherine (1831-), Horatio (1832-), Ellen (1833-) and Catherine (1836-). He lived in Guildford and was a Publican at the time of death. His family moved to Bunbury.


McKEEVER was a Police constable stationed at Bunbury in 1860.


McKENZIE, Henry Douglas. He was a lieutenant who first visited the H.M.S. Clio. Henry married Julia Nina Sofala. Their children were Dudley Bligh Douglas (1874-) born in Perth Church of England, Charles Francis (1875/6-1876) born in Bunbury and another son (1879-) born in Victoria Barracks Sydney. Henry retired from the Royal Navy as a Captain in Perth in 1875. He was listed as a farmer in Bunbury, Blackwood River. He moved to New South Wales before 1879. He became an officer in the Defence Corps and was in command of principal Private Jackson batteries. He moved to Soudan in Australia's 1st overseas contingent. His religion was the Church of England. 


McKERNON, John. He was the son of John. He married in 1889 at Bunbury to Marry Molloy. John worked in the Blackwood district as a mail carrier. He joined the Police force in 1880. 


MACKEY, C. He was listed in Bunbury as a shoemaker in 1869. 


McNAMARA, Catherine (1834-). She arrived on 13/01/l853 on board the Travancore. She was listed as Roman Catholic at Bunbury in 05/1854 by Salvado.


McNEIL, Neil (30/12/1857-). Neil was born  in Scotland. He was the second son of Neil. He was listed as a passenger on several voyages to Eastern colonies between 1882-1888. He married in 1900 to Jessie Alexandra Lawrie, the daughter of Hugh (of Scotland). He was a Railway engineer and contractor in business in Victoria and Tasmania. He employed five ticket of leave men between 1885-1886 at Jarrahdale, having the contract to build railway thence to Bunbury. He later constructed other lines and Victoria Reservoir in partnership with McLean Bros and Rigg. After he took over Jarrahdale Timber Company, he held extensive mining interests and the famous Mount Baker Estate Orchid and other farming properties. He was listed as a Justice of the Peace in 1895. His religion was Presbyterian.


McPHERSON, Gillies A.. He was the son of Graham (the postmaster). Gillies was married on 17/11/1892 in Bunbury to Elizabeth Wisbey (12/05/1870-). Elizabeth was born in York West, as the daughter of Charles and Ellen. Well known as a prospector who led a party financed by Dr J. W. Hope to inspect Kimberley goldfields between 1886-1887. Prospected again in 1890 at Southern Cross and discovered Hope's Hill. Disputed Connolly's claim to a reward for the discovery of Hutchison goldfield.


MAGOWAN, Frank Rowland (18/10/1864-1950). Frank was born in Bunbury. He was the son of Philip John and Margaret (maiden name Rowland). Frank married Leila House. 


MAGOWAN (McGOWAN), Phillip John (-22/07/1875). Phillip arrived on 13/01/1853 on the Travancore (a family tradition - not on passenger list). Phillip married on 03/04/1854 in Bunbury to Margaret Marta Rowland (11/08/1833-30/06/1871). She died when an aboriginal person speared her. She also arrived on 13/01/1853 on the Travancore. Their children were Hannah (1855-), Mary (1856-), Charles Houlder (1858-1928), Andrew (1860-1861), Josiah (1862-1865), Frank Roland (1864-), WaIter Philip (1867-) and Clement (William) (1869-). Listed in Bunbury and Boyup as a small farmer, sandalwood and mail contractor. In charge of Robert Rose's outstation at the head of Preston River. He died while sandalwooding with his son. His religion was the Church of England.


MAGOWAN, WaIter Philip (25/08/1867). Walter died in Bunbury. He was the son of Phillip John and Margaret (maiden name Rowland). He married Sarah House.


MAGUIRE, John F. He arrived on 22/02/1847 on the Java from Tasmania, with his wife Martha (Matilda) Donnelley. Their children were Henry, Katherine, John (1848-1850), Thomas (1849-1850), James (1850-), George, Ann, William (1855-), Matilda (1855) a twin that died at birth and Joseph (1863-). An uncle of John McGuire witnessed the baptism of his eldest sons. He was a Soldier in the 96th Regiment, discharged in 1849. He was listed in Bunbury as a farmer with 45 acres at Wellington in 1856 and 100 acres in 1864. He employed 10 ticket of leave men between 1864-1876. 10 Maguires were listed by Salvado in 05/1854 in Dardanup.


MACUlRE, Thomas Carbury. He was born in Dardanup and died in Bunbury (1858-07/03/1897), the son of James and Elizabeth (maiden name Carbberry). He was married on 01/12/1887 in Beverley West to Harriette Elizabeth Mary Clark (17/08/1868-). Elizabeth was born in South Australia, as the daughter of Alfred Steven (a farmer and grazier) and Caroline (maiden name L.A.W.). She arrived from South Australia in 1869 with her parents. She remarried on 30/05/1898 in Bunbury to Henry Shivers. Their children were Gertrude E. (1888-), Caroline M. (1889/90-), Thomas Cyril (1891/92-), Amy C.(1894/95-) and Olive D. (1895/96-). Listed in Dardanup as a farmer. In 1877 signed a petition regarding restrictions on expirees. Listed in Beverley as a labourer, "Gillimanning" 1887. His wife's religion was the Church of England, and he converted to the Roman Catholic church.


MAHER, Michael (1866-). He arrived on 28/02/1883 on the Mikado from London. He was listed as a labourer to Mrs James White Bunbury. He applied for an immigrant grant of 50 acres at Wellington district in 1886.  


MAHER, Richard (1867-). He arrived on 28/02/1883 on the Mikado from London. Listed as a labourer, and was nominated by Mrs White of Bunbury.


MAINWARING, Miss. She arrived in Bunbury on 01/10/1885 on the South Australian from Fremantle.  


MANNING, James (1845-). He was the son of James and Jane (maiden name Yeldham). James married on 11/05/1869 in Albany to Mary Henrietta McKail (05/05/1844-). Mary was the third daughter of John and Henrietta (maiden name Jenkins). Their children were Adele Yeldham (1871- ), Annie Constance Needham (1870-). He was listed in Fremantle between 1862-1866 as a Draftsmen. Convict Est: 3rd Cl. Clerk P.M.G. Perth Photographer between 1868 and the 1870s doing Country Tours in Bunbury 02/1871, listed in Perth in 1877 as Civil Engineer. 


MANNING, Joseph (08/1851-). He was born in England, as the son of John Daniel and Mary. He arrived on 24/02/1852 on the Will Watch. He married in 1881 to Jane McLaren (1852-1942). Jane was born in Scotland. She arrived on 10/1879 on Charlotte Padbury, as a nurse to Reverend D. Shearer's family. Joseph had four or more children. Listed in Parth as Dairyman until 1895, they "took up land" at Myalup, Harvey. They moved to Bunbury for children's education and employed two ticket of leave men between 1884-1885.  His religion was Presbyterian.


MAPES, Joseph, is listed as a farmer in Hotham River-Wandering. He employed a ticket of leave man in 1873. His wife was listed as a Bunbury householder in 1879. Mapes was also listed as a farmer (1881).


MARCHANT, James (1848-). He was born in the UK. He was an expiree. He was the son of James. James arrived on 10/01/1868 on the Hougoumont. He married on 25/04/1876 at Busselton Church of England to Emma Rutherford (1861-). Emma was born  in Ludlow, as the daughter of John and Elizabeth (maiden name Burton). Listed as a Sawyer in Bunbury, he employed a ticket of leave cook in 1873. He was listed in Augusta as a labourer from 1888-9 and feller of timber. His religion was the Church of England. 


MARRIOTT, Thomas (1818-08/01/1909). Thomas arrived on 10/04/1842 on the Diadem. He married in 08/1842 in Picton to Mary Lyons (1825-18/06/1920), who died in Bunbury. The daughter of Michael and Eleanor (maiden name Gallop). She also arrived on 10/04/1842 on the Diadem. Their children were John (1843-), Thomas (1845-), James (1847-), Phoebe (1848-), David (1850-), William (1851-), Edward (1852-), Alice Bridget (1854-), Mary Ann (1856-), Elizabeth (1858-), Mark and Michael (1861 as twins -1863), Celia Jane (1863-1958), Mercy Rose (1865-1940) and David WaIter (1870-).  Listed in Bunbury as a farmer in the 1860s, he applied for a pastoral lease in 1860 for 500 acres in "Riverdale" between Brunswick and Australind. He employed two ticket of leave men in 1874 and 1877. 


MARSH, Charles (1846-08/12/1868). Charles died when he fell from a horse. He arrived on 14/01/1868 on the Tartar. He was listed as a general labourer in Bunbury. This religion was the Church of England. 


MARSH, William (08/05/1821-11/05/1909). He was born in England and died in Preston. He arrived on 24/03/1854 on the Victory with his 2nd wife Elizabeth and son Henry. He married on 18/10/1846 to Lydia Brown (1827-1850) and remarried on 16/10/1853 to Elizabeth Hiller (26/09/1825-09/10/1886), who died in Brunswick. He had five children, four born in Bunbury, Henry (1850 in England-1935), Charles (1855-1923), Lydia (1857-1940), George (1860-1890) and John (1866-1948). Listed as a Farmer, he bought 100 acres in 1866 at Wellington Location 1 No. 34 at Brunswick and increased to 1308 acres by 1877. He later sold all except the original 100 acres. He was a wheelwright in Bunbury district between 1868-1874. He employed 2 ticket of leave men in 1864.

MASHAN, Herbert. He was an engineer at Bunbury. Herbert in 1877 signed a petition regarding discrimination against expirees. 


MASLIN, Thomas Neat (22/07/1824-18/03/1909). He was born in England. Thomas arrived on 24/03/1854 on the Victory. He married in the U.K. to Sarah Christina Andrews (30/03/1828-15/02/1899), the sister of Leticia Selby Andrews, who arrived on the same ship. Their children, except for the first three born at Blackwood or Bunbury, and were James Andrews (1846- 1929) born in England and died in Bridgetown, George (1848-1899) died in Bunbury, Thomas Henry (1850-) died in infancy in England, Elizabeth (1855 a twin -1896 in Blackwood), Amelia (1855 a twin -1947 in Bunbury), Letitia (1857-1941) died in Bunbury, Sarah Ann (1860-1918) died in Subiaco, William Henry (1862-1958) died in Perth, Avis Jane (1864-1941) died  in Perth and Eliza (1866-1946) died in Bunbury. He was the Manager at "Wellington". Allnutt's property in the 1860s in Warren district. Listed as a Blackwood farmer in the 1870s. He employed a ticket of leave man in 1872 and applied for a Pastoral lease of 5553 acres at Blackwood in 1867. His wife conducted a wayside inn at "Mullalyup". 


MASTERS, Thomas. He was married to Sarah. Their child was Avis Jane (16/03/1864 in Bunbury). 


MAXWELL, George William. He joined the Police Force in 1887. When transferred from Bunbury in 1888, he resigned.


MEARS, Reverend William (1809-1889). He died  in Swan. William arrived on 19/11/1840. York Church of England Colonial Chaplain 1842-1850 and temporary Chaplain at Fremantle Convict Estaborn in 09/1852. He moved to Pinjarra in 1853 and then again to Fremantle, Perth Chaplain Convict Estaborn in 1857. He was appointed as Private Sector to Bishop Bale in 1861 and Bunbury in 1863. During 1869-1874 at Perth, he was at Saint George's Cathedral and became blind in his old age. 


MELLON (MELLOR), Joseph (Alias Joseph DRABBLE ) (1835-). He was an expiree. He arrived 12/09/1864 on the Merchantman. He married on 11/02/1868 at the Bunbury Congregational to Isabella KcLennan (1845-). She arrived on 02/01/1867 on The Bride. He was listed as a Wheelwright. He murdered his wife at Fremantle in 06/1872. 


MENZIES, James (1828-21/12/1885 in Vasse). He was an expiree. James arrived on 01/01/1858 on the Nile. He employed a ticket of leave labourer in 1869 at Bunbury. 


MERCER, George Henry (1833-). He was an expiree. He arrived on 10/08/1865 on the Racehorse. He employed a ticket of leave man in 1859 at Perth and in 1873 a ticket of leave baker at Bunbury. 


MEREDITH, George William (03/08/1863-26/03/1948). He was born in Toodyay and died in Bunbury. He was the son of George and Ann (maiden name Hannett). He married in 1884 at Brunswick to Celia Jane Marriott (24/03/1863-05/08/1958). Celia died in Perth but buried in Bunbury. She was the daughter of Thomas and Mary (maiden name Lyons). Their children were Clement George Benger (1885-1969), Edith Anne (1887-1976), Luton (1889-1919) died as a Prisoner of War in France during World War I, Raymond Stanley (1891-1949), Erwin Hannett (1893-), Elvina Marie (1897-1973), Ethel Lily (1900-), Aileen Almanacks (1902-1979) and Adrienne Ellen (1905-). He was a Teamster, sandal wooder and worked on his father's Toodyay farm until 1888. He was listed as a farmer at Cookernup East View from 1893 until 1937. Sold the property and retired to Bunbury in 1940. He was educated at Nunyle, Toodyay. 


MEWETT, Robert James (11/11/1857-02/03/1933). He was born in Western Australia and died in Busselton. Robert was the son of John and Sarah (maiden name Winstead. He married in 1883 at Bunbury to Margaret Kinsella (1857-07/05/1884). Margaret was the daughter of Edward and Ann (maiden name Cavanagh). He later remarried on 08/12/1889 to Ellen Scott (19/01/1860-03/03/1914), the daughter of John and Catherine. He had five children, 4 of which were with Ellen, and they were Sarah Anne (1884-), May (1890-1983), Phoebe (1892-), Vera Ellen (1897-1983), John (1894-1917) killed in World War I. He was listed as a farmer and council employee in Busselton. He had a residence in Caves Road. He was a liberal and part of the Congregational Church. 


MILLER.  He was married on 17/11/1875 at Bunbury to Fanny Gardiner. Fanny was the daughter of Charles and Susanna (maiden name Higgins). She later remarried to O'Neill.

MILNE, George Brown (1869-06/12/1932). He died in Busselton. George was the son of William Henry and Ellen (maiden name McQuade). He was married on 10/1910 at Bunbury to Helena Maude Hurley. Helena was the daughter of Patrick of Hurleyville, of New Zealand. Their children were all born at Busselton and were Lorna Ellen (1912-), Joan Patricia (1917-) and Kevin George (1919-). He was listed as a Schoolmaster at Busselton, Quindalup and Denmark. In 1898 he resigned to be Town Clerk at Busselton, was chairman of the local School Board. He was a Sportsman and Freemason, owned part of Lot 152 Kent Street. Liberal. His religion was the Church of England. Education at Busselton.


MILNE, William Henry (1838-09/01/1882). William died in Bunbury. He was the son of John. He married on 23/12/1866 at York to Ellen McQuade (1844-), the daughter of Peter (an Enrolled Pensioner) and Elizabeth. Their children were George Brown (1869-1932) born in Busselton, William Proudfoot and Elizabeth Frances. He came from Madras. He was listed as a Schoolmaster at York in 1867, at ReverIey in 1868 and Busselton in 1869.  In 1870 he was the Secretary at Busselton Working Men's Association. In 1875 he became a Member of Vasse Board of Education, the Clerk of Courts, Landing Waiter, and Clerk to Resident Magistrate. 


MITCHELL, Charles Douglas (20/07/1879- 19/02/1967). He was born in Bunbury. He was the son of William Bedford and Caroline. Charles married 13/06/1905 as Northam Church of England to lda Rossiter (1874- 12/12/1954). Ida was born in England and died in Wickepin. She was the daughter of Edward and Marlan Ellen (maiden name Bodges). Their children were a son that died in infancy, Constance Joan (1907-). Nancy Caroline (1909-), Gertrude Kathleen (1912-), Phillip Rossiter (1916-1942) and Charles Rossiter (1919-). He served in the Boer War in the 2nd Contingent Mounted Infantry. He worked on family farms until he became a stock agent and butcher. In 1907 he was the Inspector for Agriculture, the Bank District Manager at Narrogin until 1935 when transferred to Northam, Geraldton in 1938, Kununnoppin in 1941 and finally back to Narrogin in 1943 until he retired in 1944. During his sojourn at Narrogin, he leased a 400 acre farm where his family lived, was involved in the establishment of Narrogin Club in 1913 and Greater Sports Grounds there as well as earlier at Northam. He was a member of the WA Club between 1929-1960. He was educated at Government School at Bunbury and High School at Perth between 1895-1896. He was a conservative. His religion was the Church of England.  


Mitchell, D. He employed a ticket of leave labourer in 1869 at Bunbury. 


MITCHELL, Graves Bickley (06/03/1864 - 31/07/1959). He was the son of William Owen and Isa Izon (maiden name Bickley). Graves married on 09/04/1890 as Bunbury Church of England to Bertha Louise Hislop (-26/06/1943). Berth died in Harvey. She was the daughter of James John Henry and Bridget (maiden name Mulqueen). He was a Sandalwood in South West with brother Owen, listed as a farmer at Harvey, and was a founder member of Preston Progress Associate in 1894.


MITCHELL, Henry Arthur (06/09/1870-05/10/1940). Henry was born and died in Bunbury. He was the son of William Bedford M. and Caroline (maiden name Morgan). He was married on 26/01/1898 to Minna Sophia Thomson (29/09/1863-02/1951). Minna died in Boyup. She was the daughter of James Guy T. and Emma Lucille (maiden name Roe). Their children were Marjorie Bremer (Polly) (1899-), Rex (-1900), James Henry Bremer (1902-1968), Guy Newman Bremer (1903-1978) and Minna Kate Bremer (1909-). He was a Surveyor's assistant in 1895, became Licenced in 1896 and worked with his brother at East Murchison, Kent and Wellington districts. He bought Wellington Location 455 in 1898, The Folly, a small farm at Donnybrook, and a butcher's shop. He was educated at Bunbury and Bishop's School Perth between 1894-1896. His religion was the Church of England. 


MITCHELL, (Sir) James (27/04/1866-26/07/1951). James was born in Western Australia. He was the son of William Bedford and Caroline (maiden name Horgan). James was married to Clara Robinson Spencer (12/08/1864-10/1949). Clara was the daughter of William and Hannah (maiden name Properjohn). Their children were Robert Francis Purnell, Roy Bedford, Gerald James, a stillborn son in 1891 at Northam, Jean Clara, Norman Keith (1899-1899) died  in Northam and Philip William (1901-1901). Entered West Australian Bank as a clerk in 1885 at Bunbury, then in 1888 at Geraldton, became a successful bank manager and farm manager at Northam by 1895, later resigned in 1902. Elected Member of Legislative Assembly Northam in 1905. Minister of Agriculture in 1909, Minister for Industry 1916/7, National Party 1918, Premier and Treasurer 1919, until he was defeated 1933. He was knighted in 1921, was Lieutenant Governor between 07/1933 and 10/1946, and then Governor until 30/06/1951. In 1922 he was noted for his campaign to settle eastern Wheatbelt and unsuccessful Group Settlements of the South West after World War 1. Education was at Bunbury. His religion was the Church of England.


Mitchell, Kate (15/04/1867-28/12/1960). Kate was born in Bunbury. She was the daughter of William Bedford and Caroline (maiden name Morgan). She was the Sister of Sir James. She was a housekeeper and companion to Squire S.P. Phillips and wife Toodyay until 1901. 


MITCHELL, Valentine Camfield (14/02/1868-27/01/1955). He was born in Canning. Valentine was the son of William Owen and Isa Izon (maiden name Bickley). He was married on 12/02/1895 at Bunbury Church of England to Lily Amelia Moore (23/04/1870-24/01/1962). Lily was the daughter of John Arthur and Mary Eliza (maiden name Stallard). Their children were Olga Justine (1895-), Gem Christabel (1897-), Gladys Isa Bickley (1898-), Clayton Cleland Bickley (1900-), Lillian Agnes (1902-1904), Glen Valentine (1904-) and Pearl Kathleen (1907-). He was listed as a farmer at The Creek in Donnybrook. He was a member of the Preston Road Board 1896-1946, serving as chairman and a delegate to Road Board Conferences. Founding member, chairman and secretary of local Race Club Member of Horticultural Society and Agricultural Society of which he and wife were active supporters as exhibitors. MITCHELL, William Bedford (13/09/1833-01/04/1907). William was born in England and died in Bunbury. He arrived on 16/02/1861 on the Elisha Dunbar (an American baler). He was married on 24/07/1865 in Vasse to Caroline Horgan (19/01/1847-09/08/1918). Caroline died in Bunbury. She was the daughter of John and Maria Laura. Their children were James (1866-1951), Kate (1867-1960), William Bedford (1870-1926), Henry Arthur (1870-1940), Laura (1872-1872), Janet (1873-1873), Elinor(1874-1874), Mabel Edith (1875-), Amy (1877-1946), Charles Douglas (1879-1967), Nora (1880-1974), Rose (1882-1901), John Bedford (1884-1885), Winifred Marion (1886-1958) andThomas Bedford (1888-1944). He moved to Melbourne in 1856 and then to Ballarat. He visited England in 1860. During 1861-1869 he was manager of Prinsep's estates "Belvidere" and "Prinsep Park", he moved to Sunbury as land and stock agent in 1869, with residence at "The Willows". By 1890, he was a licensee of "Railway Hotel" in Donnybrook. He employed 18 ticket of leave men between 1863-1879. He visited India 1878. His religion was the Church of England. 


MITCHELL, William Bedford (06/09/1870-25/03/1928). William was born in Bunbury. He was the son of William Bedford and Caroline (maiden name Morgan). William was married on 12/05/1898 to Fanny Priscilla Pearse (1875-1948). Fanny was the daughter of Francis and Emma (maiden name Snook). He moved to India with horses and returned on 30/10/1879 on the Assam. 


MITCHELL, William Wallace (07/08/1858-02/04/1932). William was born in Bunbury. He was the son of William Owen and Isa Izon (maiden name Bickley). He was married on 30/04/1884 to Ann Egerton Warburton (1864-1947). Ann was the daughter of George Edward and Augusta (maiden name Spencer). He worked on his father's property of "Torridon" near Bunbury. A farmer and orchardist at "Langton" Mount Barker and later bought it about 1883. He was a Justice of the Peace, Member Plantagenet Road Board Chairman of local Agricultural Society, a Freemason and member of Albany Club.  He retired to Albany, with "Langton", then taken over by a nephew Clayton Mitchell and educated privately. 


MOFFET, Walter. He was married to Mary Caroline Eliza Clarke (01/12/1868-28/08/1944), the daughter of William James and Sarah Elizabeth (maiden name Piggott.). He lived in Bunbury. 


MONAGHAN, Michael (1835-). He arrived on 26/12/1860 on the Escort with his wife and Children. He married in the U.K. to Rosa (1835-1865). Rosa died in Bunbury. Their children were Edward (1860-), Mary Ann (1861-), Margaret (1862-1864) born in Fremantle as a Roman Catholic and died in Fremantle and Elizabeth (1864-1865) born in Fremantle as a Roman Catholic and died in Bunbury. He joined the Police Force in 1861. He was transferred from Fremantle to Bunbury in 1865, to Newcastle in 1866, to York in 1867. He employed a ticket of leave Baker at Fremantle in 1870. 


MONAGHUE, Margaret. She was married in 1855 to Edward Gardner. She was listed as Monaghan at Bunbury as Roman Catholic in 05/1854 by Salvado. 


MONTGOMERY, William Thomas. He was married on 03/08/1890 in Albany as Roman Catholic to Catherine Munday. Their child was Constance Mary (1891-). He was listed in Guildford as a Telegraph messenger (1883/4 Almanackanac). He moved to Bunbury in 1887.


MOON, Chow (-13/06/1877). He was born in China and died in Fremantle, he also went by Michael Moons. He arrived on 12/10/1829 on board the Emily Taylor with Captain James McDermott. He married on 14/12/1847 in Fremantle to Mary Thorpe (1829- 25/09/1886), the daughter of Benjamin and Jade. She arrived on 05/03/1831 on board the Eliza. Their children were Mary Ann (1845-1853) died in Fremantle, Sarah F (1847-), John (1847-), Michael, Henry, Ann and Jane (1850-). He was a boat builder, carpenter and joiner at Fremantle between 1862-1877. His wife and two children visited Singapore on 14/08/1874 on the Eliza Blanche. She arrived on 23/08/1884 on the Franklin and from Bunbury to Fremantle on 07/06/1885 in Albany. His widow took in washing and lived with her daughter, Jane, who applied for poor relief on her behalf.


MOONEY, Thomas Joseph. He was married to Jane Smith. Their children were Rose Ann (1853-) born in Bunbury, David (1859-) born in Champion Bay and Henry James (1862-) in Champion Bay. He was listed as a mason at Bunbury in the 1850s, at Lower Greenough in the 1860s. He employed three ticket of leave men, including a bricklayer 1865, 1866 and 1869 at York, Victoria Plains and Blackwood district.


MOORE. Miss/Mrs. She is listed in the 1837 Census at Fremantle, a relative of Henry Moore. Miss arrived on 05/03/1839 on the Comet from Tasmania with Misses Bolger and Dyer. He departed on 05/02/1865 on the Rangatira to South Australia. Madras on 01/02/1868 on the Tartar. Listed at Swan as the Caretaker at a Boys Orphanage from 1884 to 1885. He was listed as a Police constable at Bunbury from 1879-1881. Listed at Roebourne working at Moore. Pead and Co. from 1884 to 1886.


MOORE, Alfred (1832-13/03/1893). He was born in Bunbury, as the son of John and Mary (maiden name Love). They arrived on 10/04/1842 on Board the Diadem. Alfred was married on 10/06/1853 at father's house in Picton to Louisa Jane Flaherty (1835-12/06/1929) the daughter of Edward and Sarah. Their children were Caroline (1854-1896), Edmund (1856-), Lewis (1858-), Matilda (1860-1884) died in Pitcon, Geoffrey (1869-1938), WaIter and Godfrey. Manager of Allnutt's property "Ditchingham" in 1861.  Listed as a farmer at Bunbury and was a Police Constable by 1869 stationed at Lakes, York Road. He employed three ticket of leave men on occasions between 1872-1873 at Bunbury. 


MOORE, Edmund (18/08/1856-04/01/1942). Edmund was born in Bunbury, as the son of Alfred and Louisa (maiden name Flaherty). He was married on 27/10/1880 at Toodyay Church of England to Eleanor Elizabeth Meredith (09/03/1861-). Eleanor was the daughter of George and Ann (maiden name Hannett). Their children were Borace George (1881-1970), Aubrey Edmund (1883-), Henry Mervyn (1884-1975), Clarence Rupert (1886-), Mabel Louisa (1888-). Ethel May (1889-1895), Felix Leonard (1891-1918) and Minna Eleanor (1893-1914). Listed as a farmer at Brunswick in 1885. Listed in Balingup as in the horse trade and sandalwood, the proprietor of "Balingup lnn" or "Nelson Arms Hotel". He bred racehorses, one of which "Patron", was a winner of many races at country meetings. He Bought "Glenmore '' farm and the Post office between 1886-1889 at Balingup was run by his wife until 1916. He was education in Government Schools at Perth and Bunbury. 


MOORE, James Junior (14/01/1830-29/09/1906). He was born in England and died in Bunbury. He was the son of John and Mary. James arrived on 10/04/1842 on Board the Diadem with parents. He married in Australind to Marle (Maria) Harris (1834-02/07/1909). Their child was Newton (1870-) born in Bunbury. He was listed as an auctioneer at Bunbury in 1861, as a bailiff in 1877, a District Police Constable and a Justice of Peace. He was granted leave of absence in 1866 and was the Mayor of Bunbury in 1898. He was the part-owner with M.C.Davies of "Star of the South" in 1877. He employed five ticket of leave men between 1864 and 1876, including two carpenters and a shoemaker. 


MOORE, John (25/05/1806-19/04/1884). John died in Picton. He was the son of James and Sarah. John arrived on 10/04/1842 on Board the Diadem. He was married on 16/03/1829 in England to Mary Love (1805-06/02/1899). Mary died in Picton. Their children were Harriet (1828-1913), James (1830-1906), Alfred (1832-1893), Frances (1838-1859). Henry, David and John Arthur (1844-1932). He came out with Wollaston and worked for him as a labourer. He moved to Bunbury as a farmer and bought 10 acres in Wellington district in 1859. Listed as the Postmaster between 1857-1862, an undertaker and carpenter in 1861. Also as a Victoria Street Farmer at Balingup.


MOORE, John Arthur (07/11/1844-09/10/1932). John was born in Picton, as the son of John and Mary (maiden name Love). He was married on 26/07/1862 in Bunbury to Mary Elba Stallard (07/06/1845-11/12/1920), the daughter of John and Hannah. Their children were Frances Eliza (1862-), John Arthur (1864-), Thomas Lawrence (1866-1946), Rosina Martha (1868-1941), Lily Amelia (1870-1962), Louisa (1872-), Mary Walker (1874-1959), Bertha Mariah and Douglas Wheeler (twins) born and died in 1876 and Gertrude (1877-1956). Listed as a Farmer at "Crandon" in Donnybrook, then at "Balance Lea" in Capel. He employed a ticket of leave labourer in 1870. His religion was the Church of England. 


MOORE, Lewis (22/10/1858-29/04/1945). Lewis was the son of Alfred and Louisa (maiden name Flaherty). He was married on 16/11/1886 in Bridgetown to Mary Matilda Meredith (19/09/1867-22/05/1943). Mary was born in Toodyay, as the daughter of George and Ann (maiden name Gannett). Their children were Julius Victor (1887-1917) died in World War 1, Raymond Lewis (1889-1968), Bertha Louisa (1890-1972), Ernest Stanley (1891-1959), Eva Lucille (1892-), Alfred George (1894-1974), Alice Ethel (1896-1897), Cecil James (1897-1917) died in World War 1, Mervyn Thomas (1900-), Gladys Rennett (1901-) and Edith Elizabeth (1904-). He was listed as a farmer at "Woodlands" in Balingup, a teamster and sandalwood carter from Williams to Bunbury. His religion was the Church of England.


MOORE, Lionel (Wylie). He was married to Maud Mary Travis (01/03/1864-) at Bunbury Church of England the daughter of James and Julia (maiden name Payne).


MOORE, Newton James (Sir) (17/05/1870-28/10/1936). He was born in Bunbury and died in London. Newton was the son of James and Marie. He was married in 1898 to Isabella Lowrie. Isabella was the daughter of John. Their children were Cora (1899-1973), Christina Z. (1900-1963), Rodney (1905-) and Kollie (1908-). He was a Licensed surveyor, training under Alex Forrest while surveying Great Southern Railway and became a Government contract surveyor. Member and Mayor Bunbury Town Council. From 1904-1911 he was a member of the Legislative association for Bunbury. Minister for Lands 1905-1906 and Premier 1906-1909. Premier and Colonial Treasurer 1909-1910. He was Agent-General in London, awarded Companion of the Order of St Michael and St George (CMG) 1909 and awarded the most distinguished Order of St Michael and St George (KCMG) 1910, Commander in 18th Regiment Australian Light Horse 1901-1908 and later of Australian Intelligence Corps. 


MOORE, W. He was a Police Constable in 1867, Fremantle 1868, York 1869, and transferred from Guildford to Bunbury 21/05/1878. 


MORGAN, Charles Llewellyn (05/07/1842-04/04/1902). Charles died in Capel. He was the son of John and Maria Laura (maiden name Feast). Charles was married on 26/10/1864 at Bunbury Church of England to Sarah Hough (1845-03/12/1927). Sarah was the daughter of Joseph. Their children were Ada Hannah Muriel (1866-), Laura (1868-), Mary E (1871-), Lucy (1875-), Clara Edith (1876-), Caroline (1878-), George Ferguson (1881-), Charles (1882-), Alfred (1882-), Alma (1884-), Jessie (1885-), Clarence William (1887-). He was listed as farmer and butcher at Bunbury and Dardanup  in 1887. 


MORGAN, George. He was listed as a Bunbury tinsmith from 1879-1881. He employed 2 ticket of leave men in 1864 and 1865 at Lockville and possibly another at Fremantle in 1875. 


MORGAN, John C (1817-09/08/1858). He was born in Wales. John arrived on 18/03/1841 on the Parkfield indentured to M.W. Clifton. He was married on 29/08/1841 to Maria Laura Feast (1815/6-23/11/1856). Maria was a widow. She also arrived on 18/03/1841 on the Parkfield. Their children were Charles Llewellyn (1842-1902), Mary Ellen (1844-1929), Caroline (1847-1919), Laura Maria (1850-), Edith (1853-), Catherine, Mary Caroline (1856-) and Clara Edith. He was a carpenter and joiner by trade. He helped to build "Upton House" and the Barracks at Bunbury in 1848. He was the Licensee of Bunbury hotel 1849-1852 and again in 1856. He bought 4 Town Lots from 1850-56, the Licensee of Picton 1852-1856. He was the owner of a 43-ton vessel called Favourite.


MORIARTY, Michael (28/03/1854-1935). He died in Bridgetown. Michael married Bridget Susan Hawkins (11/6/1868-03/1943). Bridget died in Manjimup. She was the daughter of John. Children, Alice, Edward William (1893-), France (1895-1918), Aileen, Gregory and Cecilia. Michael was a Policeman at Bunbury in 1877 and at Irwin from 1877-1880. He also was a carter and bullocky carting timber etc. Hamelin. His residence was 11 Tuart Street Bunbury. His wife was postmistress at Ludlow in 1890. He was a supporter of John Forrest. He was a part of the Roman Catholic Church.


MORRIS, Hugh (1832-). He arrived on 01/01/1858 on Board the Nile. He employed nine ticket of leave men at Williams and Bunbury from 1869-1871, including a woodcutter.


MORRISON, George (1838-20/3/1876). George arrived on 27/10/1862 on the Tartar. He married on 17/03/1865 to Jane Armstrong (1836-03/06/1907). She arrived 27/10/1862 on the Tartar. Their children were Mary Annie (1866-1946), John William (1868-1909), Sarah, Elizabeth (1870-), Ellen (1872-1950), Florence (1873-) and Janet (1875-). He was a police Constable in 1867 Bunbury and Canning in 1876 from York to Perth. He employed a ticket of leave shoemaker in 1870. His widow had a small store in James Street, Perth. She received 7£ on the week, discontinued in 1882 when two of her 6 Children were earning money. He was a part of the Church of England.


MORRISON Hugo (1819-1850). Hugo married on 25/12/1841 to Susan Luisa Bond (1818-). Susan was the daughter of Henry Rice. Their children were Christiana (1843-), Louisa (1844-), Elleen(1846-) to Eastern colonies and George Henry went to sea and died at Bombay.  Hugo was a boat builder and carpenter in Bunbury. In partnership with Kemp, he built and launched a boat in 02/1847. Unfortunately, he drowned in a fishing accident. Hugo's widow departed with the two youngest Children on 18/09/1850 on Board the Daphne for South Australia. The two eldest daughters were reared by grandparents Henry Rice Bond and his wife. 


MORRISON, John (08/03/1857-). John was born in Bunbury. 


MORT John. He was the son of Samuel and Ellen (maiden name Smith). In Bunbury, he was a storekeeper and hawker in 1885.


MOSS John Ralph (08/05/1861-16/04/1912). John was the son of David and Margaret (of Englewood, Victoria). He arrived 17/10/1884 on the Victorian from Eastern colonies and returned to South Australia 09/03/1885. John married on 23/10/1888 in Albany to Katherine Anne Phillips (02/10/1864-24/11/1959). Katherine was the daughter of Benjamin and Anue (maiden name McShane). Their children were John Harrison (1888-), Linda Amelia (1890-1964)  died in Queensland, Maude Olivia (1891-1980), Ernest Laurence (1893-1966) and Thelma Vivian (1910-1980).  John was a traffic manager for Millar's Timber and Trading Co. Yarloop etc. His widow celebrated her 100th birthday at Dardanup Hall, a noted horsewoman. 


MOTT, J. Employed a ticket of leave labourer at Vasse in 1871. In Bunbury He was a carter 1887-1889.


MOITRAM, John (1841-). He married on 15/02/1860 Sarah Coote. Their children were Joseph (1861/2-1863), Charles (1865-), Anna (1865-), William (1867-) Elizabeth (1673-) and Eva. John worked as a farm labourer and manager. In Vasse, he applied for 40 acres in 1864, Wellington. Blackwood farmer 1870-. He employed 3 ticket of leave men occasionally 1869-1874 at Arren River.  


MOULAND, Reverend James W (1858-). James arrived on 11/1880. He was listed at Albany 1881 as a Wesleyan minister. In Fremantle 1883 and in Perth 1884. Minister at Bunbury (1884-) and opened Bunbury Church 11/04/1886. Guildford (1888- 9). Methodist.


MOULLIN, Alfred William (28/3/1864-6/9/1941). He was the eldest of 8 or 9 sons of Daniel and Louise (Rector 40 years Southwark, London). He arrived 29/12/1886 on Board the Elderslie from London. Alfred married on 02/11/1889 in Perth to Charlotte Elizabeth Dent (23/02/1864-15/11/1942). Charlotte died in Perth. She was the daughter of George William and Ellen (maiden name Turner). Their children were Alfred (1890-1891), died in Guildford, Charlotte Marion Louise (1891-1966), Amy Greta (1893-1894), Ena Adela (1894-1895), Hilda (1896-1970), Cecil George Michael (1897-1897), Grace Ellen (1899-1959), Eliza May (1901-) and Estella Alice (1903-).  He was employed by Western Australia Railways from 1887-1896 as  a surveyor, near Perth. He was the town Clerk at RoeBourne and a stationmaster of Guildford for two years. District Superintendent at Southern Cross and Bunbury. Stationmaster at Perth in 1895. Resigned to ill health, later on a partner in real estate with Cecil Dent (brother-in-law) in Perth, 1889. Accountant.


MOULTON, Abraham WaIter (22/05/1839). He was the son of (James) Abraham Matthews and Mary (maiden name Jones). Abraham married in Perth to Mary Esther Rose Trayrorne (1840-24/05/1886). Mary was the daughter of Richard. She arrived 24/10/1850 on Board the Hashemy (Enrolled Pensioner ). Their children were Hilda Matthew F. (1942-), Stephen James, Claude later, Abraham, Lewis Charles (1860-1930), Maude (1868-1945), Lily Cecilia (1873-) and Rose. Abraham joined the Police Force before 1860 and was stationed at Bunbury in 1864, then Bridgetown 1866, where he bought a town Lot in 1868 and was the first policeman there. He was appointed as Registrar of births, deaths and marriages in 1875. His wife was postmistress 1866 and schoolteacher 1870. 


MOULTON, Lewis Charles (04/09/1860-11/08/1930). He was the son of Abraham WaIter and Mary Esther Rose (maiden name Trayhorne). Lewis married 27/02/1887 in Dingup to Helen Giblett (28/06/1855-23/07/1946). Helen was the daughter of John and Ann (maiden name Wells). Their children were Esther Ann (1889-), Helen Agnes (1891-1965), Charles Abraham born (1893-1916) died in World War I, Violet Zoe (1895-1972) and Linda Blanche (1898-). His wife before marriage was postmistress at Balbarrup. He was head Stockman for Hassle of Jerramungup, after marriage selected land at Yerriminnup River, home at "All Vie". In Bridgetown, he was a gardener and orchardist. 7th Day Adventist after 1903. 


MOUNT, Lionel Lambton. He and his brothers arrived on 14/12/1864 from Melbourne on Board the Aurifera with J. Orkney, and 11/12/1866 with Adam Lindsay Gordon on the Clutha. He went to Calcutta on 03/1870 on the Envoy. He took a cargo of sheep to Bunbury in 1866 with Gordon, who for the brief period was a flockmaster at Balingup. Went to the North West in 1866 exploring for pastoral land in de Grey district with brother Frank. In 1866/9 at Bunbury, he was a farmer and grazier. He had a leasehold in Nelson district. He employed 8 ticket of leave men and a carpenter in 1864 and 1869 . 


MUIR, William (1835-). He was an expiree. William arrived 01/02/1861 on the Palmerston. He worked as a bootmaker in Bunbury. He employed a ticket of leave man 12/1866. William sailed for New South Wales on 12/04/1873.


MULLINS, Michael (1833-). He was an expiree. He arrived on 31/01/1852 on the Marion. He employed a ticket of leave servant at Bunbury in 1867. Left for South Australia on 31/05/1882.


MURPHY, Francis (1834-17/121887). Francis died at Mt. Eliza. He was an expiree. He arrived on 10/08/1865 on Board the Racehorse. He employed a ticket of leave labourer at Bunbury 1871.


MURPHY, H. He was an expiree. He employed a ticket of leave man at Bunbury in 1876. 


MURPHY John (1845-). John arrived 05/01/1869 on Board the Strathmore. He married on 14/06/1869 at Bunbury as a Roman Cathelic to Honora Finnerty (1847-). She arrived 02/01/1867 on Board The Bride, as a servant.


MURRAY, George. He married on 01/02/1857 in Bunbury to Mary Hayes. She arrived 13/06/1853 on the Sabrina. He was a part of the Church of England.


MYLNE/MILNE, James (21/06/1815-20/03/1899). James arrived on 02/1838 on the Gail Larden from India. James married in 1849 to Henrietta Flaherty (1831-13/11/1861). Henrietta was the daughter of Edward and Sarah Elizabeth (maiden name Chapman). Their children were Annie Matilda (1850-), Louis Henry (1853-), Ernest (1855-) and Blanche (1857-). His sons were educated at St. Andrews University. He owned Wellington location 1, 140 and 167 "Belah" at Vasse. He voyaged to the Abrolhos in 1842 on the Ocean Queen. James was in a partnership with Von Bibra and in 1845, they advertised a farm to lease in Avon districts. Sent collections of wildflowers to Kew in 1855. He went to India where he worked in the Railway Department as an engineer. Some of his children were born there. Mrs Mylne and the family of 3 arrived on 11/11/1887 on Board the Albany from Eastern countries. He bequeathed his Bunbury property to his son Ernest in trust to give occupancy to his sister-in-law Eliza Flaherty and the widow of Edward Flaherty.
