KEEN, Anthony R

(1837-).

On 17/12/1864 Anthony arrived on the Hastings with his wife Carline (1844-). He had a second marriage with Harriet. Anthony's children were Anthony Keen (1867, who died at seven weeks), Sarah (1870-) and John Henry Rowden (1871-). He was a blacksmith in Bunbury. Anthony was nominated in 1863 by his brother-in-law John Conibeare. He employed six ticket of leave men from 1868 to 1873.

Private James Keegan of the 21st Regiment was stationed in Western Australia from 1833 to 1840. Lieutenant Bunbury sent him to escort Layman to the Vasse with his cattle.

Charles arrived on 02/06/1891 on the Orizaba. On 28/12/1893 Charles married Edith Properjohn (07/05/1875-09/05/1963). Edith was the daughter of Charles Daniel and Margaret. Charles and Edith had one child, Kathleen. He was a painter and decorator. He was contracted to work on the flour mill at York. In 1892, Charles went into partnership with James Craig at Bunbury in a premises rented from George William Floyd. He bought six lots of land in Bunbury. The death of Craig that year brought financial difficulties. He visited England with his bride, where his father's death caused him to remain there to carry on the family business.

He was the son of James and Catherine. On 04/11/1903, Thomas married Catherine Reilly (12/04/1879-12/9/1903) in Busselton. Catherine was born in Bunbury and died in Perth. She was the daughter of Philip and Margaret. Thomas and Catherine's children were Margaret (1904-), Evelyn (1906-), Clement (1908-1957), Elvie (1909-), Leonard (1911-1974), Gloria (1914-) and Muriel (1918-). He worked at Nannup as a farmer. He was educated at Rose's estate.

His second marriage was on 13/01/1886 with Catherine (Bessie) Elizabeth Hayward (08/1865-28/03/1942). Catherine was the daughter of Thomas and Catherine. John's Children were Harley Robert (1875-1920), Herbert Forster (1877-1947), Walter (1878-1941), Robert Hayward (1889-1968) Dora Frances (1891-1964), John Forster (1893-1917), Mary Annette (1894-), Harold Douglas (1896-1975), Eric Hayes (1898-1959), Nora Roberta (1905-) Wilfred Gordon (1907-) and Gervase de Clifford (1911-1976). John was a farmer, manager and later owner of "Leschenault" (Pearce Clifton's property). John was a Justice of the Peace for 44 years, a member of Wellington Road Board and a member of the Bunbury Building Society. He was also the owner of "Moorland Farm", which was given to two of his sons when he and his wife retired to Bunbury, where they lived with their daughter.

Frank died in Bunbury. Frank was the son of Harley Robert and Mary. On 14/02/1875, Frank married Elizabeth Victor at Guildford. Elizabeth was the eldest daughter of Henry Eitze, a civil engineer. Frank and Elizabeth's children were Victor Roberts (1877-), Amy Elizabeth (1879-1949), Elinor Catherine (1881-), Mary Louisa (1884-), Albert Frank (1886-), Clarence Victor and Douglas Victor (died young). He was a farmer at the "Poplars" in Dardanup.
